Chapter 1: An Incar's beginnings

If you haven't done so, please read the prologue first, then the first chapter as the newest post equates the latest chapter. Enjoy!

We start with a scene of a Magical Academy. A room with two people inside. Spacious. Lavishly adorned with runes and magical symbols, speaking in their own language of power to those who would heed their speechless words.      Those who have in this place are called the Incar: Speakers to ancient ruins, mystical forces and energies that give them dominance over the elements, whether they be water, fire, or thunder that shakes the heavens.

One of these mages aforementioned has been assigned a different task other mages would not usually do. An Incar mage after completing her training at the academy is suppose to go into the Braiken army. The head enchantress is holding a special ceremony for her instead.

Alicia (the head enchantress): Greetings Sarah, my beautiful young Incar. You may not know why we are here, but I thought it wise to send you elsewhere besides the army camps.

The Incar is young indeed, with hair like silk. Dark and yet shining like the sun with all its radiance and still a shade from the punishing sun.

Sarah: Forgive me head enchantress (with a respectful bow), but this honor seems unnecessary. I desire to serve the Incar order, and the world outside that serves to protect life and balance.

Alicia: Believe me my dear, the honor is all mine, which I am willing to share, should you accept this privalage. Whether or not it is a pleasure is sincerely up to you.
(Rises from her seat)
You have the power to wield fire and mold it into the shape of a phoenix, sear your foes, and yet you would show mercy upon them, soothe their wounds, and save them from the brink of death.
Never had I such a mage under my instruction that had the capacity to show compassion as much as you do. I fear that this gift would go to waste should you enter the Braiken army. I see your gift of delivering life and death much more expressed within a small group of travelers that I trust you will encounter. They will be your sword and shield against the army of the pitborn.
And with this, I charge you, by the power and will the Incar have invested in me, through mortal bonds and pacts, and divine mandates, to go forth and bring the power of life and death, creation and decay to the pitborn outside these walls. Life to future allies you will encounter, and death to the pitborn that relentlessly seek to bring an end to life itself and draw all to the embrace of Abbadon. May Trieste herself guide you, and grant you formidable allies whom you will judge not by their looks or personality, but by their ability and alignment. Now quickly go, lest the army take you into their ranks forcefully.

Sarah: (eyes watering) Head enchantress! I-

Alicia: Do not be afraid child, I will contact you when the time is right. Here, take this satchel. It has currency only the Incar order is allowed to use.

Our head enchantress then grabs the hand of our lovely Sarah and guides her to a hidden passage. After an emotional embrace, Alicia activates the hidden magic to transport her from within the walls of the academy, to an alleyway in the back where few could notice her. It is here that Sarah's journey begins.
